The Wedding

Well, my brother is officially a husband as of 6/19. What a fun wedding weekend it was too! It all started Friday morning with the bridesmaid lunch at Arricia. It was Kentucky Derby style so we all sported our big hats. All the bridesmaids surprised Erin with a scrapbook of the engagement party and showers leading up to the big day. Now she has all the memories already stored in a scrapbook. I thought this was a great idea since mine remains unfinished 8 years later.

The rehearsal went as most do and Karlee was in her own little world roaming around on the stage. The dinner was wonderful at Moore's Mill. Then it was my turn for the speech. Well, I didn't make it through the first word without starting to cry. And the tears continued through everyone else's and the picture video. I blamed it on the pregnancy hormones!

Saturday morning came at an early 8:30 am arrival at the salon for all the girls hair. Chip and Karlee didn't have to be at the church until 3:45 so daddy was on duty for the day. His biggest job was to make sure Karlee had a nap. He said she did but I wasn't so sure!! We all helped Erin get dressed and all the pictures for the day got started.

Karlee had her hair curled for the first time. She sat amazingly still. I think it was only because it wasn't me doing it. She put on her ballerina slippers and was ready for her flower girl job. The beautiful dress was hand made by Erin's mom.

The wedding was beautiful! Keeping an eye on Karlee and all her wondering kept me from crying during the ceremony. She actually became a ballerina when my Uncle Byron started singing during the unity candle lighting.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Adam Norrell...

Now, the reception was no normal reception. It was a total party and so much fun. It all started with the wedding party being introduced to funky music and us having to dance out and on to the dance floor. Then Adam and Erin came. What we thought was about to be the waltz that they had been taking lessons for was far from it. "I've had the time of my life" started playing and they paid tribute to the movie Dirty Dancing. Erin had changed into a dancing dress and they performed the entire dance from the movie, lift and all! Words cannot describe it. It was perfect!

The party continued and my grandmother even got in on the dancing action.

I danced like I wasn't pregnant all night long and my feet are still paying for it. It was a weekend full of memories. I have gained the greatest sister in law. I wish them the best of luck in their marriage. They are the absolute cutest couple ever!
