1st Field Trip

Karlee went on her first field trip last week. Her school went to Jack O Lantern Lane in Lafayette! We both had fun and came home with a BIG pumpkin. Karlee has had to tell everybody in the family how big her pumpkin is. It's cute to watch her get so excited talking about it. I got her to hold off on carving it so pics of that will come later!

BFF's (Camille has been a great friend since the 1 year old class at Parkway!!)

On the hunt for the best pumpkin!

And, she found it!

Staking claim to her pumpkin.

AU vs. FL 2011

Chip was fishing a tournament so I loaded up the girls and took them tailgating for the Florida game. My parents were gracious enough to come help me out!

The only thing on Karlee's mind was seeing Aubie so we headed to the Alumni tent to find him.

Karlee also wanted a tiger paw on her hand so we did that too!

The Pumpkin Patch Express

We have been to Jack O Lantern Lane every year since Karlee was born to pick a pumpkin. This year, I decided to do something different for our family pumpkin patch trip. A few Saturdays ago, we all headed up to Calera to take a ride on the Pumpkin Patch Express. It involved a real train so I knew Karlee would love it. Madelyn had a great time too!

When we arrived at the "pumpkin patch," I started to miss the one in Lafayette. At least it had pumpkins out in a real patch! We walked through the grass and the girls picked out a pumpkin.

There was a hayride, a bounce house, and a maze for the kids to enjoy. After about 30 minutes, we all loaded back up on the train and headed down the track. We came to a spot where the engine detached and came around to reattach to the caboose to pull us back to the train depot. That part was pretty neat to watch!

I'm glad we did something different but it's a trip we will probably not make again. Pumpkins set out in a field of grass is just not our kind of patch!

That night, Karlee was chomping at the bit to carve her pumpkin. I knew it was way too early but we did it anyway (and it has since rotted and been thrown away.) Chip even whittled down a potato for the nose!

Playmates

Poor Madelyn stands at the back door all the time looking at Sable. Sable will come up and lick the glass (notice the dirty glass) and Madelyn just squeals and bangs on the door.

Since it was nice outside this weekend, I decided to open the kitchen windows and let them play. It lasted for just a minute until Madelyn pulled Sable's ear really hard. Sable found herself a nice spot far from the window and stayed there until I closed them back!

Zoo Trip

We took advantage of this beautiful Fall weather this weekend and headed to the zoo in Montgomery. The girls had so much fun. This was Madelyn's first zoo trip. I'm looking forward to more fun Fall days to come.

Trying to get a better look ...

at this beautiful jaguar.

Feeding some very hungry giraffes.

The girls favorite ... riding the train. Karlee was not interested in looking at the camera!
