Naked baby and a pool

What started out to be a pretty boring Monday turned in to a hilarious day watching Karlee play in her pool. She is truly a water baby. She thinks bath time is swim time too!

New best friend

Karlee has started noticing Sable more and more. The other day, I pulled up the blinds on the back door and put Karlee in her exersaucer where she could touch the glass. Sable sat in front of the door and kept Karlee entertained for about 30 minutes before Sable got bored. I thing Karlee could have played all day like that.

What's been happening?

I know it's been a while since I posted. I've been extremely busy at work. Here's a recap of what's been going on in the Baker household.

1. Karlee has moved out of our room to her nursery. The first night was long but the next night and ever since have been great. She's sleeping from around 8:30 to 5:30.

2. Karlee and I are finished nursing this week!!! She's adjusting to formula just fine.

3. Karlee has had green peas, squash, pears, and sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes have by far been her favorite. It's funny because sweet potatoes were my biggest craving during pregnancy.

4. Karlee is teething (I think). She's drooling everywhere and is totally off her sleeping and eating schedule. She's not too terribly fussy though. The teething tablets that Anna Keesee swears by have not worked. Tylenol at night helps her sleep until around 2:00. Chip has been great because he gets up and fixes the bottle while I change her diaper. Then I feed her and get her back to sleep.

5. Karlee loves the exersaucer and the jumperoo. They are my saving grace for getting supper ready and eating.

6. Karlee is rolling everywhere. I stepped out of the living room to get the phone the other day and came back to find her under the couch. She was giggling and making her fun noises like she had found something new. I call her my little steamroller. I put her on the carpet in the bonus room and she rolls from one end to the other.

7. Karlee has found her feet and they are constantly in her mouth. They keep her more entertained than most of her toys.

I think that's about it for now.

Special Weekend

Chip's first Father's Day was such a special memory. Karlee and I gave him a fishing rod and reel and the Dr. Seuss book One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Chip was surprised about the rod and reel. Thanks to Jay Galimore, I got the right one. Chip sat and read the book to Karlee but she couldn't take her eyes off the rod. It's bright orange and very tall. Chip then started telling Karlee all about the reel and showed her how it went on the rod. He was telling her to get ready for the daddy daughter fishing tournaments they would be in and put her little hands on the reel and started pretending they had a fish. Karlee laughed and smiled like she knew exactly what they were doing.

When Karlee woke up Sunday morning I fed her and put her in our bed to play with her daddy. After a few minutes, she was back asleep on her daddy's arm. It was so cute. Unfortunately, my camera was dead so I have no pictures. When she woke up again, we headed to the lake for more fun. Chip and I are so fortunate to have both our families living here. We had great family time Sunday with everybody.

I even got presents on Father's Day because it was my birthday too. The big "28". My parents made homemade ice cream (my all time favorite thing in the world) and strawberry cake (probably a close 2nd to my favorite thing). All in all, it was a fun and special weekend.

Beach Fun!

Chip and I attended the wedding of Amy Uphold and Heath Laney this weekend in Gulf Shores. We decided to make it a family weekend and see how Karlee liked the beach. My mom came with us to keep Karlee during the wedding and help us on the beach. Well, Karlee loved it and totally surprised us at how content she was the entire weekend. I was worried about the long ride but she slept from around Montgomery all the way to Foley and played from Foley to the beach house. She then slept again pretty much the entire time we were eating dinner when we got down there in a very loud restaurant.
We got on the beach around 9:00 Saturday morning. Karlee didn't mind the sand or the salty water. She played and laughed like she had seen the beach a million times. Chip played with her at the water's edge and she seemed to like the sand washing under her feet. Karlee went inside for a nap around lunch time and slept three hours. Thank goodness for video monitors and Granna!
Amy and Heath's wedding was just beautiful (but really really hot!). We stayed in a beach house with Travis and Elizabeth Spratlin, who's 3 months pregnant by the way. Check out the picture of her drinking pickle juice! They enjoyed getting to watch us experience a few firsts with Karlee. I can't wait for another beach trip.

First Cereal

Dr. Greer gave us the go ahead to start playing with cereal. Karlee had her first bite on Wednesday night and loved it. I think she ended up wearing most of it rather than eating it. She kept trying to take the spoon from me and play with it. She's had cereal every night since. I fed her plain rice cereal in the beginning and switched to rice with apples last night. She got excited when the spoon came to her mouth with that one. I'm going to stick with the cereal for a while and then try fruits and veggies. I can't wait to see which veggies she likes because I don't like too many myself.
