1/2 birthday

Karlee had her 6 month check up today. All is well and Karlee is growing like a weed. She weighs 14 lbs 3 oz and is 26 3/4 inches. The nurse said she had long legs and could end up being tall. My dad's side of the family had some giants on it so it could be possible.

No more shots for a while. Thank goodness. Bearing any illness, we only have to go back for a weight check at 9 months. We're having problems getting Karlee to sit on her own. She wants to stand instead. If we let her pull herself up from the lying position, she goes straight to standing and smiles the whole way up. Dr. Greer said she was advancing fast for her age on grasping things and bringing them to her mouth. We have to keep all eating utensils and glasses from the edge of the table when we are eating because she grabs everything. She's also starting to notice everything we put in our mouths and opens hers like she wants some. It is too funny. Last night she started making "oo ugh ugh" noises if I didn't feed her fast enough and slapping the tray. She truly is a very funny individual.

Sleeping with Bunny

Karlee is attached to her bunny these days. The funny thing is she wants it for naps but doesn't for night time sleep. The other day I went to check on her in my bed and this is what I found. She had made her way on top of the bunny.

Chip had a fishing tournament Friday night from midnight to 8 am. Needless to say, he slept all day Saturday. I decided to put Karlee down for her nap with her daddy. She started out laying right beside him but I later found her half way under the cover with her bunny not far away. Chip said she rolled all over the bed and never dropped the bunny's ear.

Viva Las Vegas!

Chip and I just returned from a wonderful vacation in Las Vegas with my brother and his girlfriend Erin. It was our 7th trip out there. Needless to say, we like it a little too much!! When we dropped Karlee off at Chip's parents on Wednesday night, I cried leaving her and all the way home. It was hard thinking about being so far away if something happened to her. It was such a calming thought though knowing that she would be in such great care with Chip's parents first then my parents over the weekend.

I relaxed as soon as the plane hit the runway in Vegas and I saw that beautiful city. If you've never been there, the buildings are massive and truly unique. We got checked in at Caesar's, grabbed some lunch and hit the tables. I spent most of Friday shopping on what I won Thursday night. I think I have a shoe problem, not a gambling problem!! The way I look at it, Caesar's paid for the shopping, not me.

This trip was by far the best food trip we've had out there. We started with Joe's Stone Crab in Caesar's Thursday night, Zaffireno's in the Venetian Friday night, and Sushi Rojo in Caesar's Saturday night. Zaffireno's had the best pasta I have ever put in my mouth. I'm not a sushi lover but Chip, Adam, and Erin are. They said the sushi was the best they've ever had. Sushi Rojo was voted the best Japanese Restaurant in Vegas and I truly believe it. The atmosphere was great and overlooked the Vegas strip.

The only problem with the entire trip was the journey home. Apparently, Atlanta had terrible weather on Sunday. Our flight was delayed twice so we checked in our bags and headed back to another casino to eat lunch and play more. Once we got on the plane, we sat on the runway for another hour and a half. What was supposed to be a 7:45 pm arrival home turned into a 12:15 am arrival home. Chip was not very happy when the alarm went off this morning at 5:45 for him to go to work. Oh well, at least the vacation part of the trip was a blast.

Full stomach

This post is dedicated to Jay Galimore! Has anyone just fell out in their plate of food before? When we got home from the lake Sunday, it was time to feed Karlee. She took part of a bottle and started eating her apples. Before she was finished, she collapsed in deep sleep on her bumbo tray. I guess she had a long weekend too. These pictures were too cute not to post.

Fun on the Fourth!

We spent a long weekend at the lake and had a wonderful time. We especially liked hanging out with the Dilworth's at their pool and Niffers. Karlee loves the lake more and more every time we go. She falls asleep on the boat almost instantly and wakes up as soon as it stops. She is truly becoming a lake loving baby.
