Lake Season Has Begun!

A few weekends ago, Chip had a fishing tournament so the girls and I spent the day at the lake with my parents. We've had so much rain that the water is almost up to the pier. Madelyn enjoyed sitting and playing while Karlee went fishing with my dad. I have to say that Karlee is becoming quite the fisherwoman! Her daddy is so proud.

I think we are going to have a hard time keeping a hat on Madelyn's head this summer. I guess her hair will be greased down with lots of sunscreen since there isn't much covering her head.

First boat ride of the year. Excuse the wind blowing through my hair!

Doing some more fishing. This time we all joined my dad and Karlee on the fishing trip.

This paddle boat has been around a LONG time. I can't remember when my parents bought it but I know I was young. It's funny that this is the next generation of cousins to enjoy it. I bet we could find a picture of me, Josh, Dale, and Tabatha playing on this from YEARS ago if we looked hard enough!

I looked over at Madelyn to see her trying to put on a life jacket like her sister was wearing. Though this one was way too big, I decided to let her wear it for a while to get used to it. It didn't bother her at all. Thank goodness because she won't have any choice but to like it when we are at the lake every weekend this summer.

Warm Spring Days

We had a crazy warm Winter that has led into a hot Spring. Way back on March 18, I decided it was time to move the water table the girls got for Christmas out of our living room and outside where it belonged. It was also time to actually fill it with water and not pretend anymore! The girls had a blast with their cute pirate ship. Madelyn only tried to climb in it a half dozen times!

I foresee LOTS of time in the driveway with this all summer long!

Daddy-Daughter Date Night 2012

Chip and Karlee attended the daddy daughter dance for the 2nd time back on Valentine's weekend. The Auburn Parks and Rec does a great job with the event. Karlee was so excited to go this year. Last year she was a little apprehensive, plus she had a cast on her hand!

Karlee and Chip did some practicing before they left. Then, Chip concentrated really hard on getting the corsage on just right! Karlee came home that night telling me all about the music and how she and Chip danced the night away. What a special night these two had.
