A Royal Princess Tea

So, I finally have a quick second to sit down and update the blog. It's tax season so my free time is ... well, non-existent! Way back on January 21, we had (well, I had since Chip was in a fishing tournament) Karlee's birthday party. 4 years old! I just cannot believe it. I was not planning on having a party at all this year ... post about that coming hopefully sooner than later! But, all Karlee talked about during the weeks prior to her birthday was who she was going to invite to her party. So, mommy got busy planning a party a week and a half before having it.

Karlee loves playing dress up so I decided to have a Princess Tea Party and invite all the girls to come dressed as their favorite princess. I told Karlee to just pick a few girlfriends to join her for a tea party. Mommy wanted to keep it rather small and more personal! After a call to Michael Dilworth, the location was set and invitations were quickly ordered. Thank goodness I have a friend that does cakes because I knew I didn't have time to make one myself! It all came together rather quickly and everything was set. I even managed to make table decorations (thanks to Pinterest!). Two for the food table were just perfect.

Despite the fact that it was an absolute monsoon during the entire party (unloading my car and reloading my car included), everyone had a great time. The little princesses were adorable and really enjoyed eating off of real china and drinking out of tea cups ... though the other mommies were a bit nervous about it! A big thanks to my Mawmaw for letting me and my mom raid her house for china and tea pots. And a great big thank you to Chip for helping me set up the tables and chairs on the night before so I didn't have to unload those in the pouring down rain!

Princess Karlee arriving at the party. The pink carpet entrance way was a soggy, wet pink entrance way by the time everyone arrived!

The little princesses started off the party by decorating tiaras.

Then, it was time for lunch and princess tea. They were all so dainty drinking out of the little tea cups.

Time to blow out candles ... and lick the icing off the candles!

I think everyone enjoyed the cake, even Madelyn!

Present opening time.

Happy birthday, Karlee! I really hope she wished for time to slow down when she blew out the candles!!!
