Fabulous 5

Madelyn turned 5 months old last Monday. She's growing like a weed and changing every day. She looks more like the Baker side of the family to me than the Norrell. Karlee started off that way too but now is all Norrell. People always call Madelyn a boy when they see her even though she is decked out in pink. I can't wait for her hair to grow so I can stick a bow in it!

She's eating baby food most nights of the week when we eat dinner. She's had peaches, squash, green peas, and bananas so far and has liked them all. Maybe she won't be a picky eater. Karlee never was and still eats more vegetables than I do. We've done lots of practicing sitting up in the boppy. She's getting pretty sturdy and can sit on her own for a short time before starting to lean over. Karlee is ready for her to sit up so they "can play tea."

The feet are the definite favored toy right now. This is pretty much the position she stays in while lying down. She will scoot herself all the way down in the bouncy seat too to get her feet up in her face.

Karlee can make Madelyn smile just by walking in the room. Watching their interaction brings me so much joy. I really hope they are best friends. Karlee loves for Madelyn to sit with her in the play room and "read" books. These two will literally sit for 30 minutes or more looking at books together and Madelyn is just as content as she can be.

Madelyn is getting better as sleeping at night (not great but better). She'll sleep all night about 3 nights a week and will still wake once or twice the other nights. I think my body and brain have just given up on getting a full night of sleep and have started functioning better. Tax season without good sleep has been rough. I seem to hit a wall around 2:00 every day and just want to lay in the floor and take a nap. The busy part is almost over and I'll get about 2 weeks off for surgery recovery after April 27.
